Hi Beautiful Babes!
Ever notice how quickly trends come and go? Take it from a current student at the Fashion Institute of Technology: it’s mind-blowing! What fuels this constant change? We do. Consumer demand does. Think about it: where we decide to spend our money determines what is supplied in the market. Producers want to make whatever ultimately sells. Consumers think of their purchasing decisions as a form of activism. For instance, we chose to spend our money at a vegan restaurant instead of a steakhouse. That’s us saying “We don’t like steak. We love plant-based tempeh!” Makes sense right?! Whatever it may be, if it aligns with our personal beliefs and values, then of course we are going to spend our money on it and support that company!
Now you may be asking yourself, “How does any of this relate to spring trends?” Well, babes, where consumers decide to spend their money they ultimately decide how trends develop in the market. In the last few years, consumer attitudes have shifted toward a more transparent, authentic, and sustainable way of thinking. People have started choosing products and services that support moral working standards, ethical supply chains, and a more defined focus on natural, raw ingredients. This shift in thinking moves us forward as we are continuing to think of even more innovative and technological resolutions to transform and redefine our broken industries.
Spring 2019 is taking a whole new position on finding a balance between normal and organic lifestyles. According to WSGN's beauty lifestyle forecast, Common Ground, there will be two over arching trends emerging into the beauty industry this season (Bailey & Lee, 2017).
Products will be inspired by simplicity, essentially bringing products back to basics. There will be an emphasis on locally sourced ingredients that incorporate ethical, sustainable packaging into their practices.

Products that work hand-in-hand with the body restoring its balance, aiding in its recovery, and promoting its overall health and wellness will also become a trend. A concept called Adaptogens will be explored in this trend. These products are derived from plants and herbs ultimately creating a balance between the body and its functions to cope with everyday stress.

So babes, this spring season whichever trend you choose to follow, be sure to keep in mind what ingredients it uses and how it will effect your body! & Remember, being organic is #fashion.
